Mid-Summer Madness – Session 3

Today I finished assembling all of the infantry and three flyers. Some of the fliers are missing parts of their wings, but instead of taking time to look for them in the bits boxes (yeah, I got bits scattered everywhere), I decided to start painting a unit of infantry.

In the game Warrior Heroes Warbands from Two Hour Wargames, a unit can be made up of six to twelve figures. I decided to paint twelve figure batches, for now. The first unit is a unit of spearmen with a skull on their shields. I’ve decided this will be the “Red Skull Regiment” in that the shield blazon and their clothing will be red.

Unit primed black with zenithal highlighting

I was able to prime the figures black and add a zenithal highlight. I then painted the shields a dark black purple and gave all of the metal a base coat of Vallejo Oily Steel.

Today’s session was the shortest one yet and only two and a half hours.
