About the Site

Atomic Floozy Adventures is a collection of stories, reviews, crafting articles, and tutorials from and about tabletop miniature games.

How It Started

It started years ago after a family vacation to Yosemite National Park where I had taken a watercolor landscape painting course. Just as I was really getting into the hobby, my son who was eleven at the time asked if I would help him paint. Of course, I was more than delighted to help. It was then he plopped a half dozen Space Marines on the kitchen table. Not long after, I was collecting and painting my own army of Squats. Yep, we were a Warhammer family.

We moved to the Dallas area where we attended our first ever game convention the 1995 Dallas Game Expo. We discovered games other than Warhammer and met the wonderful folk of a new company called Reaper Miniatures. When the kids entered high school, our interests turned to other things and the games were either stored or sold. In 2005, my world shattered, I found myself a widow. Getting back into dating was not my idea of fun. But when I found some of those old miniatures, I started painting and through the gaming community at Reaper, I began gaming again.

I was looking for a new game to play and had discovered Chain Reaction from Two Hour Wargames. In those days, games with a reaction system were new, few and a little hard to understand how they worked. Luckily at a local one-day gaming event, I got to play in a new game from Two Hour Wargames called Larger Than Life – a narrative game that built a story. I was blown away at how the game helped tell a story. I’ve been using games to tell stories ever since.

What the Site Contains

The site has “how to” articles on playing tabletop games, painting miniature figures, and constructing tabletop scenery.

There are reviews on hobby related products (miniatures, tools, books, paints, etc.) and where to find them.

Most important to me, the stories that emerged from the games.
