Housing!

If you were to break the miniature tabletop gaming hobby into its various components and ask me to rank them, then building and painting terrain would be near the bottom of the list. Honestly, I prefer to buy terrain prebuilt and pre-painted, but that is often expensive. So, I need buildings for my 10mm Seven Years War project. A couple of years ago, I picked up a few 10mm buildings from Battlescale and have finally forced myself to paint them.

The Church

The Manor House

The Stable

House No. 1

House No. 2

House No. 3

House No. 4

Summary

These seven buildings bring the total number of miniatures painted for the year to 304.

  • 18 – 28mm Science Fiction figures
  • 17 – 28mm Modern Horror figures
  • 8 – 28mm Interwar Pulp figures
  • 9 – 28mm Old West figures
  • 45 – 28mm Colonial Era figures
  • 84 – 10mm Seven Years War figures
  • 58 – 28mm Medieval figures
  • 24 -28mm Amazon figures
  • 33 – 28mm Fantasy figures
  • 8 – 28mm Terrain piece

Trust me, the buildings look good on the tabletop – the tell-all camera reveals either a lack of brush control on small details or how much I just want to get the terrain pieces done and out of the way!

Response

  1. I feel that “good enough” is the terrain sweet spot. Looks good on the table but doesn’t outshine the armies. Nice little houses, btw. A village, even just tucked away in the corner, feels almost compulsory for a battle in this period.
