From the Painting Table 2024 – 16 February [NSFW]

Warning! This post contains scantily clad and quite naked Amazons making the entire post Not Safe for Work.

Finished another batch of figures. Hopefully I can get back to gaming soon, however I do have two very large armies to get painted by Labor Day.

Goliath Ganger

Painting these old Games Workshop Necromunda figures are a nice break from painting so many medieval figures.

Goblin Space Pirate

This is a Goblin Space Pirate from Twin Goddess. How can you tell she’s a space pirate? Why, by the Sailor Moon salute!

Vikings

Here are a few more Wargames Foundry Vikings. I think the range has both early Vikings of the type that faced Alfred the Great as well as later warriors who faced King Harold at Stamford Bridge.

Late Anglo-Saxons

There are two reasons these figures from Victrix take a little longer to paint. One is that they are multi-part plastic figures that require time to assemble, and the other reason is that Victrix has been out of shield transfers for months, so I’ve had to improve my freehand skills in painting shield designs.

Command Figures

Huscarls

Fyrd

Amazons

I’ve been collecting Amazons for a very long time, in fact the reason I have so many is that I was going to use them in armies for both Warhammer Fantasy and Warhammer Historical wargames from Games Workshop. Instead, they’ve been used in Rally Round the King, To Be King and Warbands from Two Hour Wargames. I have about 300 painted figures and at least another 100 to 200 figures left to paint. I’ve collected Mythological Greek Amazons, South American inspired tribal Amazons, Prehistoric Amazons, and even Medieval Warrior Amazons. Will I get them all painted in my lifetime? I hope so.

Summary

This batch consisted of 26 figures bringing my 2024 total to 89 figures painted. Here’s the breakdown:

  • 14 – 28mm Science Fiction Figures
  • 8 – 28mm Interwar Pulp Figures
  • 37 – 28mm Medieval Figures
  • 23 – 28mm Amazon Figures
  • 7 – 28mm Fantasy Figures

As much as I would love to chat about gaming, I’ve got to get back to the painting table. There’s a lot of figures I want to get done this year, so I can spend more time gaming next year. I know I could use counters and battle boards, but miniatures and tabletop terrain are an important part of my hobby. Nothing wrong with counters and battle boards, I just like miniatures.

As always, I appreciate and treasure your comments and suggestions. Let me know what you think.

Early voting for the Texas primary starts next week, please vote for candidates who support democracy over authoritarian Wanna-Be dictators. Big hint: if the candidate is endorsed by Greg Abbot, Ted Cruz, the NRA, or Donald Trump, that candidate should be shunned like the plague.

Response

  1. Painting a lot and look great!
