From the Painting Table – May 9

All right, I’ve managed to post 2 weeks in a roll! I’ve always enjoyed painting miniatures, but now it is more of a challenge since I’ve become legally blind in one eye.

Pygmy Archers

I finished a unit of 8 Pygmy Archers from Wargames Foundry’s Darkest Africa range.

Greek Hoplites

I also finished a second unit of Greek Hoplites for a Rally Round the King project. Same as last week, a mix of figures from Victrix, Wargames Foundry, Thistle and Rose, and Black Tree Design (Out of Production). I’m really liking the Soil of Sparta basing material from Krautcover.

Hope things are going well with all of you. I’m getting spoiled, my daughter insists I shouldn’t be driving and has been driving me everywhere. On the downside, she goes with me to all of my doctor visits and is rather strict on my my diet and medications.

I’m on the Mediterranean diet and have developed a strong urge to revisit Spain, southern France, Italy, and Greece. It has been a long since I’ve been in that part of the world. The last time I was there, Franco was still alive and ruling Spain. Come to think of it, Tito was still ruling Yugoslavia. Goodness, I’ve become ancient!

And as always, your comments, suggestions, thoughts, and lavish gifts are always appreciated!

Nice to see you posting again, and lovely work as always.

Still hopeful you’ll finish off some of the game/story lines from the past.

    1. Which ones would you like to see completed?

Well, all of them – the Russian front, the Amazons escaping the Norse, the the magic user and the goblin she saved… Oh, and the Amazon armies.

Love reading your updates. Also, glad your daughter is looking after you. Maybe a trip with her to Europe.I like the shield motifs. Are they freehand?
